It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since the day when our secure feelings as Americans were severely shaken with the tragic events of 9/11/2001. We all remember where we were and what we were doing when we heard about the first strike against the WTC North Tower, the next on the WTC South Tower, then the Pentagon and when the plane was forced down in Shanksville, PA. Disbelief, shock, horror, anger, grief, helplessness - the emotions we all felt ran the gamut as we struggled to comfort each other with life in this 'new world'. Our dear Tommy was taken from us that day. Tom's great smile and dreams were snuffed out in an instant by terrorists, bent on destroying America and all her people on their own soil. So many of our lives were touched that day by the loss of loved ones - good people who perished trying to make a living and especially by those bravely sacrificing their own safety to try and save the lives of others in the Twin Towers. Tommy loved the game of golf and all that went with it! He loved the friends, the travel, the challenges, the 300+ yard drives, the birdies, the laughs and most of all the fun! Please join together, friends and family, to honor and remember Tom once again this Friday, September 9th at the Water Gap Country Club for our annual Tom Polhemus Memorial Golf Outing. Tom lives on in your memories and those brought to life by the sharing and retelling of stories about how Tom touched your lives! Thank you for your many years of support and love for Tom! Barbara |

IMPORTANT UPDATE for 2011 EVENT!!!!! Hello family and friends! Rains from Hurricane Irene and now Tropical Storm Lee have altered our plans for the Tom Polhemus September 11th Memorial Golf Outing. The Water Gap Country Club Management has deemed the the golf course unplayable due to excessive rains this week and last. Golf will no longer be a part of our upcoming Friday, September 9th Memorial Golf Outing. I know this disappoints all of us in a big way, but the good news is that we are STILL HAVING THE TOM POLHEMUS MEMORIAL EVENT THIS FRIDAY THE 9TH! The event promises to be fun and memorable even if Mother Nature is preventing us from adding golf into the mix. We will still be able to gather together to honor Tom and all those lost on 9/11 and have a fun day! We have wonderful 10th Anniversary Tee Shirts to be given, a luncheon of hamburgers and hot dogs, a Texas Hold 'Em Tournament to participate in, lots and lots of donated prizes to 'fight' over, the annual 50/50 raffle, a delicious dinner, open bar for beer, wine and soda for 2.5 hours (during hour before dinner and throughout dinner) and DJ dancing to tunes 'spun' by Chuck Seese from 93.5! We had 92 people signed up for golf and 100 for dinner. We are very happy for such a nice turn out to support our event! We hope you're still 'in' for the entire event. For those that signed up for golf, you will have the choice to either get a voucher for a round of golf anytime between 9/10/11 and 9/13/2012, or, a $24 credit toward next year's golf tournament. The revised schedule for Friday, September 9th can be found below. We need to know if you are coming Friday, and if so, for what parts of the event. Buy in will be $30) Tricky Tray***.....................................12:00 pm - 5:00 pm Beer, Wine and Soda Hour.................. 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm Dinner and Prizes****..........................6:00 pm - 7:30 pm DJ Dancing and Cash Bar.................... 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm (DJ will start at 6:30, outside at the Gazebo Bar - also open to public) *Registration: will include check-in, voucher distribution, receiving your complimentary Tom Polhemus 10th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Tee Shirt and goody bag and purchasing Grand Prize (3 grand prizes), Tricky Tray and 50/50 tickets. **Texas Hold 'Em: Those that lose in early rounds of Texas Hold 'Em can continue playing side poker games with chips until 5 pm ***Tricky Tray: Place your purchased tickets in the buckets corresponding to the prizes you would like to win! ****Dinner and Prizes: Free beer, wine and soda continue during dinner. Prizes will be given out for Grand Prize, Tricky-Tray and 50-50 winners Note that the happy hour and dinner for our nine signed-up volunteers will still be complimentary. You will still have things you can help us with at the outing (setting up Tricky Tray Prize Tables, selling tickets, helping run prizes out to the winners, etc.).
